Since the moon landing in 1969, Omega has continued to build on its success by producing the famous Speedmaster, as shown here in the "Pre-Moon" ST145.022-69. Seen from the side of the dial, the watch looks a lot like its old reference that landed on the moon, but differences can be seen once you turn the dial over to the case back side. This 69 has a smooth bottom with no NASA or moon landing markings. While retaining its seahorse badge, the case back retains its iconic Omega pro cachet.
The first "Post-Moon" reference of the Speedmaster was also the 145.022-69 ST. In commemoration of its successful landing on the moon, this 1969 Speedmaster later had an engraved back cover that read "The first watch worn on the moon", but two examples were presented. The first example had a case back marked "Flight-Qualified" and the second version marked "Apollo XI 1969".
